I nominate IWillKickU because he has a great layout with everything organized plus he has done so much for scorehero's hardware section and the very usefil Controller Compatibility Guide.
I nominate footballtom365 because his made me lol, inspired me to make one, and he has made so many pages, he contributes the world and then some to this wiki
I nominate SH-Bot, because if I don't it said it would terminate me from humanity.
>_>
All seriousness now, I would love to have an in-depth look into everyone's wiki at one stage and make a justified nomination upon that, unfortunately I feel I don't have the time this week, so based on the honourable mentions from other people I nominate NovaXD, his whole User Page is delightful to read yet being so informative, great job man.
Voting for IWillKickU because it has become a very well layed out page that is just a blast to read. He links to even better reads (like his Endless Setlist story - if you haven't read it DO IT NOW).
I knew someone had probably beat me to nominating IWillKickU :P. Anyways, I think the nominating process should be a bit more organized than posting on a Wiki page. I guess I'll suggest it at ScoreHero's brainstorming section instead, though.
Do I get to nominate people? My nomination is for http://wiki.scorehero.com/User_microgamer2vs2, because he's a long-time member, an asset to the community, and his user_wiki is easy on the eyes and informative.
Pieman's wiki is funny every step of the way. His and Nova's were some of the only ones in which I was laughing for most of the way, but since Nova was already featured, I pick PiemanLK.
It's stated that before doing this he had no experience at all with html coding, so for him to construct a page as awesome as the one he has is rather hardcore. Plus he keeps my wiki page entertaining with his lovely pictures.
How did Echelar win when no-one nominated him? o.O. No disrespect intended to Echelar - his page is very nice - I just don't understand the point of nominating if the winner wasn't even nominated.
Anyway for this week I'm voting, again, for
http://wiki.scorehero.com/User_djcardshark
Because as I said above, it's a very cool looking page.
The purpose of user nominations is to force us to give consideration to certain pages each week. We admittedly do not go through and check every user page every week and it's therefore possible that good pages could go unnoticed. That's why this page exists - for the entire community to point us towards the better pages that stand out above the rest. It doesn't guarantee that a nomination will win, it only guarantees that it won't get overlooked in the weekly decision.
This week Echelar has been working on the {{ghstats}} and {{rbstats}} actions and has formatted his page very nicely showcasing the results along with an incredible layout otherwise. We clearly felt that Echelar deserved user of the week in comparison to other nominations that were made - but we did give consideration to all.
I agree this isn't the best way to handle things and we hope to create a better nomination system in the future.
Ah, thanks for clearing it up - I thought the nominations were a strict *user who gets the most votes wins* affair - but if the nominations are just a way to draw attention to certain players, then that's fine too.
Two things before I make my nomination:
1. Can you guys delete some of the old comments? It's getting a bit unruly.
2. Are Previous winners eligible, just as long as they didn't win last week, or are all previous winners out?
Nomination: PiemanLK (I think this is one of the best pages out there)
IWillKickU wins User of the Week on 11/15. Congratuations!
You all may now make nominations for 11/22.
@duck: Yes, nominations get carried over from previous weeks. But there's no harm in making a repeat nomination in later weeks to bring more attention to someone deserving.
Got no one to nominate, but I just have to say that woozerkristen completely deserved the award. I'd comment on her page if I could, but alas, it ain't open for comments.
JCirri said that "nominations get carried over from previous weeks," but now it looks like they aren't. >_>
With that in mind, I'll be re-nominating PiemanLK ( http://wiki.scorehero.com/user_PiemanLK ), as his page continues to be awesome.
Lastly, I reiterate the two questions I asked a while ago that never got answered:
1. Can you guys delete some of the old comments? It's getting a bit unruly.
2. Are Previous winners eligible, just as long as they didn't win last week, or are all previous winners out?
Well, it would make sense that a user couldn't win more than once, but then again, woozer DID get another week, and the wording does suggest that they could win twice. I just think they'd want to get as many different people to win as possible. *waits for JC to reply with the official word*
We like to spread things out so there's lots of "previous winner" examples for members to check out and get ideas from. Eventually we hope to have a system for submitting new nominations and/or voting on existing nominees.
Nominations do carry over, but you're free to state your re-nominations here if you'd like. The real matter behind things last week is that we forgot to update in the midst of other things. :p
I nominate blingdomepiece -
http://wiki.scorehero.com/User_blingdomepiece
Because:
1. Aesthetically pleasing prog-rock album covers!
2. Page is written more betterly than most; how many wiki pages use the word "conceit"?
3. Drum tips.
