Kramer Striker
Kramer Striker
The
Kramer Striker (commonly referred to as the Kramer) is an official guitar peripheral developed by
RedOctane and was bundled with Game_GuitarHeroIIILegendsOfRock Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock for the
PlayStation 2 console, when the previously
Gibson SG was used.
At the same time the Kramer Striker was released for the
PlayStation 2 version of Game_GuitarHeroIIILegendsOfRock Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, the
Gibson Les Paul was released for the
PlayStation 3,
Xbox 360 and Wii bundles of Game_GuitarHeroIIILegendsOfRock Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Unlike the
Gibson Les Paul, the Kramer does not feature a removable faceplate and additional navigation buttons.

The Kramer Striker features all the standard guitar controller features: five colored fret buttons, a strum bar at the base of the guitar, a whammy bar, a built-in tilt sensor for activating
star power, and start/select buttons located at the edge of the guitar. Additionally, the controller featured a detachable neck for easier storage and transport, a first for the
Guitar Hero series.
Gibson SG (Red)
It is notable that while the guitar chronologically came after the
Gibson SG, many
ScoreHero users still prefer the
Gibson SG to the Striker. This is usually because the Striker's fret buttons are too firm and difficult to handle, and because the select button (commonly used for
star power activations and
squeezing notes) is near-impossible to press while playing a song. Also, the connections in the detatchable neck quickly deteriorate, and lead to dropped notes.
