Jordan - GH2

Jordan is generally considered to be the hardest song to pass in Game_GuitarHeroII Guitar Hero 2, and was the last song to be FC'd by the community in that game. Jordan opens with a relatively simple riff, which continues for the first 1:30 of the song. After that, there is a quick set of ascending 3-note scales (Guitar Break), a few more easy solos, and then the infamous solos B and C. For nearly 30 seconds the song bombards the player with a wall of notes (the infamous 'wall of skittles') which reaches 15.47 notes per second. At the very end of Solo C, there is perhaps the most famous note in Guitar Hero history: the blue note of freedom. After the BNoF, there are several more easy solos, then another hard solo which resembles solo C, but greatly slowed. Then there is a fast strumming section reminiscent of the Song_Gh2_Thunderhorse Thunderhorse strumming section, (Bridge), then some more easy riffing, to the end of the song.

The first great leap forward to the FC was made when User_Microgamer2vs2 Microgamer2vs2 began learning to tap the solos. His method involved using 2 fingers from each hand to hit the insane hammer-ons and pull-offs of most of solo B, and then to use one hand for the beginning of solo C. Gradually, other players began learning to tap, and to experiment with the method. Although User_Microgamer2vs2 Microgamer2vs2 was in first place on for a long time (and made his historic tapping video, which can be seen here), gradually User_HellAshes HellAshes began to catch up, followed by other players such as User_k3v227 k3v227. The race to the FC lasted a long time, but was eventually won by User_HellAshes HellAshes on January 9, 2008.

Surprisingly, a Jordan FC has become relatively common-place, with outstanding players such as User_HellAshes HellAshes, User_petererk petererk and User_iamchris4life iamchris4life FCing the song multiple times using squeezing to get higher and higher scores.

Jordan is the first of two Buckethead songs to be featured in a Guitar Hero game. The second is Song_GH3_Soothsayer Soothsayer, which was featured as downloadable content for Game_GuitarHeroIIILegendsOfRock Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

Blue Note of Freedom

The Blue Note of Freedom (BNoF) is the first note of Solo D in Jordan. Getting to this note often means that you have survived the hardest section of the song and should be able to pass the rest.

Background

This song has never been recorded for an album- it was put into Guitar Hero 2 at request of Marcus Henderson who worked with Buckethead over the phone to make the solo- Buckethead has said it is the greatest solo he's ever written. Up until the release of Guitar Hero 2 "Jordan" contained no solo and instead segued into "Post Office Buddy" which is off Buckethead's Giant Robot album. The song is named after Michael Jordan as Buckethead is a big fan of him and basketball in general.
