imageA timing window, in general, is the maximum allowed time leniance of a particular action. For example, when strumming, the software generally checks to see if the closest note that hasn't already been hit is within a certain threshold, or timing window. If it is, the game registers a hit; if not, then it's a miss.

Enabling the Precision Mode cheat in Game_GuitarHeroIIILegendsOfRock Guitar Hero III or Game_GuitarHeroAerosmith Guitar Hero: Aerosmith makes the timing window for notes smaller, while enabling Easy Expert in Game_GuitarHeroIIILegendsOfRock Guitar Hero III makes the timing window larger.

And also maybe Easy Expert? I don't know if that changes the timing window, I've never used it.

Me as well as other users have added notes about Easy Expert and Precision Mode in general, which is offered in every Guitar game except Rock Band 1 and Guitar Hero 1.

Easy Expert and Precision Mode didn't appear until Guitar Hero 3. I think someone had confused it with Performance Mode, which makes the note track disappear.
