The Unonfficial Guitar Hero X/H/M/E Score Leaderboards (as managed by bushidox)

Part 1: The Entirely Unnecessary (but Hopefully Awesome) History of the Thread

Two years ago (at least, in reference to when this page was created), the score community may arguably be considered to be not as big as it used to be, depending on who was asked. Sure, there were people who still did score competitions (and at the time, S11 was going on), but in the general scheme of things it was hard to tell just how well that part of Scorehero was doing, a fact that many people bemoaned.

And then came Bushidox.

At first it was a relatively simple look: Just a rough graph detailing the top 50 people over all the currently-released games (up to Van Halen, as Warriors of Rock wasn't out at the time) and just the O211. It was a small thing, but the effect was immediate. As bushidox continued to update on a semi-consistent basis (depending on how often it needed to be updated and when he was able to manually get all the data), more people were added to the boards to make it more accurate, more people were drawn to try and get on the board, and some old-timers (like MLGquinky) briefly made a comeback to try and keep their stakes in the upper echelon of the boards. And the popularity of the board continued to grow.

A couple months later, the hard board was included as originally requested by Voidedalive2x, which was later on Easy and Medium were added after DrSham helped bushidox get all the data automatically and drastically cut the time he needed to spend on updating, and a third column was added to make there be an on-disc column (scores of all on-disc songs available to everyone, excluding BH, the handhelds and the 10 exclusives), the O211, and the grand total board (comprised of the aforementioned BH, handhelds, and 10 exclusives). By this time the boards were very different from their earlier incarnations, both in design and in the people in them. Old powers were dethroned, like Fug topping Lo7 on the O211 board. New powers came to the fore, like KramRal on Expert(who later went on to dethrone Fug himself on both the on-disc AND the O211 boards); JLeggy on Hard and Expert(who has currently put himself in the top 5 on the hard and expert on-disc leaderboards, and leads the Expert grand total); chemmajr, cjsteamfoo, and Voidedalive2x on Medium(the former two finishing up their MFGFC's and breaking 200mil on the Medium O211 (and Chem becoming 1st on the on-disc board, the latter being the first to make serious headway into beating out FinalAeon for the top spot on the O211 (and even beating him on GH1 and 80s prior to the first two coming) and being the first in 2-3 years to break into the top 5/top 3 on GH1); and TheHecht, DrSham, Doughboy, and BloodyFistHole on easy (the former three in a crazy rivalry for the top spots on the Easy O211 board, and the latter of which cementing himself in the top 3 on the on-disc board). And even more stars have begun to rise or come out of hiding on all boards, keeping them alive and fresh with every update.

A bass leaderboard was created by Shaffx95 later, hoping to bring some of the craze to this instrument as well. Though Shaff himself eventually abandoned the thread, Bushidox was able to take it over and managed both Guitar and Bass threads himself. And indeed, like the original creator hoped, the bass board began to gain an active base around it as well.

Over the nearly 2 years of it's run, it's had it's share of ups and downs (especially downs; as of the creation of this page, the guitar board is somewhat empty of any rank movements, and the bass page had no updates for 2 weeks in a row), but it's popularity and fame has never wavered, and it's certain that, so long as bushidox is able to keep updating and all of scorehero is able to keep the score scene hot, the two threads will be able to endure the test of time.

I need to get around to adding a ToC to this at some point. <_<

And I hope Bushi sees this and keeps this updated. I don't want my hard work to go to waste.
