Up-Strumming is a technique used by some players. Instead of
Downstrumming with the player's dominant thumb, they may choose to Up-Strum with just their pointer finger, or they may use both their pointer finger and middle finger at the same time. This technique is very rare in comparison to the great majority of players that prefer to downstrum. This method is sometimes used when playing bass, to simulate what an actual bassist does. There is an achievement in Rock Band 2 named "Flawless Groove", where you must get 100% on an expert bass song only using Up-strums.
