i believe total scores mean they couldve submitted 3 scores for that one song over time whereas unique only takes one for each song.
thats just my guess

theres a box up top that explains what the unique and overall scores are (there is for me, anyway).

If you want to know, those boxes say:
Unique scores: your best/ranked score
overall scores:all you submitted scores(probably including scores manually deleted or deleted due to having more than 3 scores).

Just realized a bug that caused the last automatic update to fail, so I'm running a manual update now.

The scheduled updates (hopefully working now) are indeed each Saturday at 1pm EST.

Wow... I wound up submitting 486 scores (462 of which were unique) between the time the page started, and the first update. >_>

I noticed something strange. The default view when you first go to the page will subtract one from your rank if you are not actually in the list.

For example, it says that I'm 234th in unique total when it's displaying the first 50, but when expanded to 500 users, I'm in 235th. This held true for the other 4 categories as well.

would there be any way for you to separate this by difficulty also? for separate games, maybe have total and then a different section for each difficulty?

2nd that, it would be nice to see what one's expert-only total is for a certain game. I know it doesn't make sense to me that doing the same song in expert and hard constitutes 2 "unique" scores.

Well these stats are on the wiki for a reason. They aren't intended to "make sense" in a true competition manner, they're more just huge all-encompassing totals grouped by one thing at most.

If you're looking for the overall breakdowns by game/difficulty (which generally matter the most in gauging skill), it's best to look to the main site's scoretracking sections.

Does the overall score just count all of the 3 (or 4, if you got the extra slot) scores you could have put in, or does it also count any score you put in?

And does the unique or ovr total include all difficulties and platforms?

Overall score counts every single submission in the system (possibly 3 or more per song, etc.), unique score only counts the best score for every song.

And both overall and unique include all difficulties, instruments, and platforms.

Are these stats going to start picking up the newer games sometime soon? (i.e. GHM, GHSH). I've put in well over 100mil in scores over the past few weeks and my total has only gone up about 2mil (mostly RB). Thanks.

Also it seems at times there are issues with displaying ranks. For example, when viewing overall scores by difficulty, when I view the top 50 for hard, it lists me at 55th, but when I view the top 100 for the same, it lists me at 56th.

When I view "Scores By Game", 2 separate entries for Band Hero show up for me. The first has 126 users and the other has 11 users.

I guess the totals count all scores across every platform. That'd really be the only explanation for why games like GH3, GH2 (i.e. cross-platform games) have more than the product of all the instruments times all the difficulties. (The two mentioned should have 280 and 254, respectively.)

WikkaWiki is deprecated. Ever think of archiving the material here and switching to MediaWiki? Just wondering. I'm not gonna make a big issue of it, though.
