Hi, my name is Daniel but my friends call me Dan Soup... but then again my really good friends call me Daniel. I live in Wales (that bit next to England) and I spend my days playing video games, cruising the 'net (it's like surfing, but with more style) making YouTube videos and reading.

I've loved videogames since I was very little, but I've never been that geeky over them (unless I wanted to be, so I could get people to go away >_> ) My first videogame memory is of playing/ watching my brother and sister play Sonic The Hedgehog 2 on the Sega Megadrive (aka, Genesis). Since then I have had:

• Game Boy

• Nintendo DS

As you can see, I'm quite a big Nintendo fan. They're not as good as they once were, they don't seem to know what gamers want any more and are not able to make anything online good. I only got the PS2 for Guitar Hero (as you'll read later on) but things like my DS are going unused. I still play games on my Wii and I have my Mega Drive set up but my N64 is unloved. I'm currently trying to get some controllers off a friend so that I can use it again (my N64 controllers are busted, the joy sticks are looser than your mothers- *gunshot* ).

My favourite game of all time is Lylat Wars (Starfox 64). One incredibly weird thing about this is that I never clocked very high scores on it and I never even unlocked hard mode (although I'm currently working on the VC version). I enjoyed the game for what it was. I must also mention that I really like both Zelda OoT and Zelda MM for N64 aswell (I consider them the two best games ever made).

On the 21st April 2007 Dan Soup decided he was going to set up a YouTube account, thus TheRealDanSoup∞ was born (DanSoup was already taken). On the same day he uploaded a short video of his ferrets∞ (both of which have sadly passed away since).

It was the start of something big. After uploading an additional eight videos straight from my camera I discovered Windows Movie Maker on my laptop.

Now things were getting interesting.

Sam Hates Me∞ was the first video I put any work into. My friends enjoyed it immensely and my time on YouTube officialy started.

In the next week or so, I'm hoping to get a ukulele, because they are freakin' awesome! I'm gonna learn a few good rock/ metal songs on it and it will so totaly get me laid! (chicks dig dudes with ukuleles :D ). I'll let you know how it turns out and post pictures and stuff.

I enjoy reading fantasy and sci-fi books. My favourite book series are "Discworld" by Terry Pratchett, of which I've read 20+ books, and "His Dark Materials" by Phillip Pullman.

I also knit. I haven't knitted anything substantial yet but I'm working on a scarf. I find it really relaxing and I think it's a cool skill to have.

• I own a Legend of Zelda collectors disk for Game Cube that contains Zelda, Zelda II, Zelda OoT and Zelda MM. It was complete luck that I got it, I happened to see it in my local video game store (which was only open for about six months) and reseved it and bought it the next day.
• By all rights I should be an absoloute emo, but I'm not. :D
• Somehow, girls have been able to resist my manly good looks, my charm, my wit and my romantic edge. All this means I am still a virgin.
• I'm a Strongbow drinker.
• My favourite drink is Welch's Soda. Unfortunately, it not easy to get over here and I can't get it online but there's a shop that sells it not too far away.
• I occasionaly get a twitch which causes my head and upper torso to quickly flick to my left. If this happens, I act like nothing happened. This disconcerts my friends quite a lot.
• So far, I have a documented donation of 10,500 grains of rice on FreeRice∞

Guitar Hero History

I don't know when I first became aware of Guitar Hero, I probably always knew about it from random things on the internet, but I first got really interested when I saw Freddy's legendary YYZ video and I wanted the game since. After playing GH2 on 360 at PC World I was set in my mind, I had to have this game. At the start of summer 2007 I bought a PS2 off a friends and at the end of the summer I had Guitar Hero II with a cherry Gibson SG. I bought Guitar Hero III for Wii with a Les Paul which I received on New Years Eve 2007. At the start of the summer of 2008 I got Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 80s and Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.

When I first got Guitar Hero II, a friend bought it for me (I can't actualy buy things online myself). I went to his house and played for hours, we took each song in turn and played through easy and most of the way through medium (I distinctly remember War Pigs being very long, it must have been on medium since there are no encores in easy). When I first started on hard it absoloutly kicked my bottom. I remember failing on Shout At The Devil so many times it wasn't even funny. Eventualy I made a breakthrough and went through hard and then expert, getting stuck in all the usual places (Rock This Town, Freya, Bad Reputation, Phychobilly Freakout Hard 5*)

I made these tabs a while ago. I thought the ScoreHero tabs were a bit lacking, so I made my own. Unfortunately, I have to update them manualy but I still think they are totaly sweet. I have the "Individual Games Stats" image in my signature, clicking on it links you to the "All Games Stats" image. I've had multiple compliments from members on them. I made them myself with MS Paint.

• On 5th December 2008 at 2:20pm GMT I uploaded a score of 361,752 for Schism on bass. Amazingly, this got me into 1st place on all systems. I was first on all systems for 4 days and 9 minutes.
• I had the first "Anything" bass FC on Wii. This was the third FC cross console. This also meant the first three FCs were on three different consoles.
• I had the first "Cyanide" bass FC on Wii. This was the second FC cross console.
• I was the fourth person to FC the Tool venue on bass. Strangely, the other three people were all Wii owners as well. When I uploaded the final score (Parabola) I was ranked first for the Tool venue cross console.
