The Midnight Gaming Championship is an annual tournament series that has been running since the fall of 2006. It's inaugural season took place at nine different locations throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex. The events generally take place at a Mc Donald's in a big tent in the parking lot. The 2006 season included Guitar Hero as a tournament game. The main tournament had a total prize package worth $2500 for the winner of the tournament for each game. The 2007 season did not include a game from the Guitar Hero series. They did, however, expand their tournaments to a national level that year and included more cities beyond the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. The 2008 season includes Guitar Hero III as a tournament game and is still at a national level. According to MGC's website, the 2008 season's last scheduled city is on October 11, 2008.
