Edited on 2008-11-25 21:41:53 by baylxr [same minor fix to Hot Topic]

Additions:
Several users on the rockband.com forums were angered after playing the Hot Topic® Sponsorship gig and noticed they lost huge amounts of fans despite getting 5 stars or better for the setlist. These users noted that no where in the description did it mention you would lose fans. Some of these users joked about the effect of "selling-out", and discussed why Hot Topic® would allow this. For some users who tried to stay away from losing their fans and "selling-out", they noticed this Opportunity Event would continue to pop-up, while other Opportunity Events would not show up.1 As a response to this, Harmonix changed the effect of the Hot Topic® gig when they patched the game. Post-patch, the gig gives less money and gives the normal fan reward.

Additions:
The following five events work similar to the above oppotunities, but have certain features that make them distinct. While Modifier Opportunities generally modify your setlist (at the most replacing one song, or adding a song) and then enter the results into the same spot on the gig list, these completely replace whatever your setlist is and create their own gig line with stars that count towards your tour total (leaving the gig you originally tried to select still undone) Verification Needed. Also, they all have fan prerequisites, which none of the Modifier Opportunities have. It is also possible that they are triggered by a wholly different method than the Modifier Opportunities. These Opportunities can be repeated as many times as you want simply by choosing the gig line at the city/venue where you originally did it, and though you will not see the offer screen, you will get all of the same rewards as when you completed the gig originally.

Additions:
Modifier Opportunites are the most common type of opportunity, which give you a special offer that can modify your gig in return for certain rewards and sometimes even penalties. When a modifier opportunity adds a song to your setlist, then at the end you will get full money and fans for that song, but that song will be invisible in terms of the total amount of stars you get on the city screen for that gig. For example, if you play a two song Make a Setlist and it adds an encore song, and you gold star all three songs, you will get cash and fans based on gold starring 3 songs, but the gig entry in the city screen will still show 10/10. Likewise if you get 5 stars on the first song, 4 stars on the second one, and then 5 star the encore, the city screen will reflect only the regular songs and show 9/10.
