I am a programmer for a company specializing in an oil and gas software package for small to mid-sze companies. I love working in Visual Basic.NET and C#. I currently hold Microsoft Certified Applications Developer, Microsoft Certified System Administrator, and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer credentials, with more on the way.
I started in the rhythm game scene with Karaoke Revolution 1 & 2 over at my brothers house. We had been talking about wanting to sing or something when we did family get togethers, but no one really wanted to invest in any type of karaoke machine.

I got into the whole plastic instrument rhythm game scene after a friend showed me Guitar Hero II on PS2. I immediately fell in love with the game, and worked my way up from Easy to Hard. In order to find some tips on the game, I visited YouTube and found SArmstr0ngs's wonderfully edited videos. His split screen video's helped me to understand how to slide my hand over the frets and stuff. From his videos, I found more from some of the "pioneers" in plastar like Wulfe79, elx, and Phr34k. These videos led me to the wonderful community known as ScoreHero.
I tried my hand at creating some custom songs, because I felt there was not enough average player charts available. At first I just worked on "remastering" some of the existing ones that only had an expert track, adding in at least medium and hard tracks. I also tried creating some helpful applications for others to use in creating their own custom songs. My biggest work came with trying to create customs for Dream Theaters entire "Scenes from a Memory" album. While most were completed, some never saw the light of day.

When news about Rock Band 1 broke, I went out and purchased an Elite Xbox 360 as well as the 360's version of GH2, and worked my way through Medium and some of Hard. After Rock Band 1 came out, I found myself drawn by some magical force to the drums. I worked my way up once again from Easy to Hard (Run to the Hills is the only thing stopping my completion). I have found the drums to be rather therapeutic after a long day at work; coming home, sitting down, and getting to "hit" something that will not result in being arrested.

Guitar Hero III (360)
Guitar Hero: 80s (PS2)
Guitar Hero II (360)

Instrument Difficulty

Guitar: M/H -- I prefer Medium for harder songs, but will play Hard as well.
Bass: M/H -- I can play several songs on Hard, but prefer Medium.
Drums: M/H/X -- There are a few songs in RB1/RB2 that I just love to play on Expert, but I prefer playing Hard or Medium.
Vocals: H/X -- I can "sing" every song on Expert.

Rock Band bands

Mickey and the Goonies -- this is a solo'ish band
Texas Tornado -- this is a family get-together band
Steel Dirigible -- a band to play with friends
THUNDERCATZ -- another band to play with friends
The Code Monkeys -- a band started to play with some co-workers

Accomplishments

I Vox-Drummed Endless Setlist #1 in Rock Band on Hard (vox)/Medium (drums) to get my Vinyl Artist Achievement
I hold the number #1 position on ScoreHero for Drums + Vocals (Medium) with all scores being vox-drums. Until RB2 I was trying to make sure I also had scores for all DLC doing vox-drums as well.
I completed the Expert Vocals solo tour in Rock Band 1, which is the first time I completed an Expert difficulty in any Guitar Hero, Rock Band, or Karaoke Revolution game.

Guitar Hero: World Tour Rant Area
Okay, let me first off say, these are my opinions, and I make no apologies for them. Second, just because you do not agree, do not spam my comments with juvenile comebacks or leet-speak filled remarks. Well thought out discussions are welcomed. Thank you.

IMO, Neversoft needs to go back to just doing guitar/bass, there was enough wrong with the GH3/A engine, that still needs to be fixed. Then they can venture forward into the full band environs. I've got my WT Drums set at the same height as my RB Drums (since they go no higher...), and my posture is the same as when I sit in front of my RB Drums. However, I can only play about 30 minutes before I start feeling lower back pain, and have to take a 1 hour or longer break before it stops. I have not had the same problem with my RB Drums, even when I first started playing back in Nov '07. I think the design is messed up with the cymbals/hi-hat pads rising only about 6 inches off the base, and they're made out of hard plastic (similar to the Mad Catz expansion cymbals), so they are noisey as hell when hit. The unit feels top heavy to me, where if I look at it wrong, it will fall over. So I've been forced to bring in cinder blocks and sandbags to keep the thing from shaking about. The pads themselves are the only redeeming thing about the set, because they are quiet and appear to be able to take some punishing hits.

I'm not sure who is QA'ing the drum charts, but they need to be fired. I currently play on Medium Drums for fun, and Hard to try and get better. However, when I first saw what Neversoft considered a Medium drum chart for "On the Road Again (Live)", I wanted to choke a kitten or a baby.... This thing is really charted as a high-tier Hard or low-tier Expert chart, with its repetitive red hits, which appear to be set as 32nd or 64th notes. I've found a few more disc songs where it appears there are 32nd or 64th notes for other colors in consecutive measure long strings. Some of the medium charts even feel stale, like someone ran them through some automated process which took out random notes or patterns.
