NPS stands for Notes Per Second, the ratio between the amount of notes in a given beat and the tempo. It's used to compare the speeds of various sections from different songs. It is calculated by multiplying the BPM by the number of notes in a beat, then dividing by 60.

Example:
Song_GH3_TheDevilWentDownToGeorgia DWDTG's fast strumming part is 150 BPM with 8 notes per beat. 150*8/60=20 NPS
