Impulse - GH3
Impulse is known as a great "all-around" or "warm-up" song in GH3, as it contains sections that challenge all aspects of Guitar Hero playing, it has a little bit of everything so to say. For example there are two solos each with a variety of trills, scales, and ziggys.
There are sections with alt-strumming different amounts, think
The Way It Ends∞ on a much lower scale (i.e. 5 strums *PAUSE* 4 strums *PAUSE* 2 *PAUSE* 3 *PAUSE* etc)
The intro also contains a section typical of most solos in GH3. It contains strummed notes interspread with HOPOs, and it is good to learn how to hit sections like it with minimal strumming due to the sensitivity of the GH3 engine when it comes to strumming HOPOs.
In the "main riff" there can be a quick doubling of speed for a B-O-B quick trill, a rhythmic feature in HO/POS that is found quite frequently in GH3. (Think Cities on Flame riff: there's usually a quick Y-B-Y or B-O-B trill in there.)
There's also a few sections that are great practice for 3-finger chords, alt-strumming them and changing e.g. RBO to GRB etc.
All in all, Impluse is a great song to practice everything.
