I had a bunch of crap a year and a half ago here, but that's gone now. I'm bored now, so here's the story from my perspective today.
From the moment I started playing Rock Band competitively (around 2008, I believe) and until the summer of 2009, my life had revolved around nothing but that the entire time. It was a waste of junior and senior year of high school, and I could have done so much more with my time then. Sure, I met a lot of cool people in the process, but if I could go back and actually have a life in that time period, I would in an instant. It sucks, but I've forgotten about it for the most part, but quitting has made me the person I am today, and I love the life I live today.
By the time summer 2009 came along, I had stopped playing Rock Band for the most part and focused more on work and real life. However, I stayed in IRC and ustream chats to talk, but that would eventually lead to me turning on my friends I made in the process, talking with the wrong group of people, and for the most part, involve me back in the "no life" process. This went on until December of 2009, where I started to get annoyed with the people I was talking with and decided that my New Years Resolution was to never go back to the days where I would be on the computer or Xbox all day, and that included IRC. From then, I have been going to a ton of metal concerts, making new friends and hanging out with them, playing music, and living the life.
Shit happens. Those couple of years were dark times in my life and I never want to revisit them again. Now I live life happy and keep moving forward. I don't have time to play video games anymore, what with work and other occupations, but if I really have nothing else to do, I'll pop in Rock Band 2 and play drums for a bit.

Introduction and Whatnot

Hello, I'm GarageMetal468, but you can call me Dan. I'm also known as "gfunk" by some people in streams and online (credit to duck for starting that). I got "GarageMetal468" from Garage Inc., the 2-disc Metallica album of covers, Metal, my favorite genre of music, and 468 are just random numbers I came up with. I play Rock Band 2 more than any other game, and I play Expert for all 4 instruments. I'm best at guitar and bass, then drums, and then vocals. I've passed every song on every instrument on Expert (that I own), but haven't five starred everything on Drums and Vocals. I have five starred or Gold Starred everything that I own on guitar, and I am capable of doing that on bass (except Thrasher), but I probably won't ever get around to it. I was once in the Top 10 for Expert Guitar for the Rock Band 1 Leaderboards, and my peak point was 6th place. My goal was to be top 5, but I never got to that, especially when I came home from a 7 day vacation in Mexico to find that I was in 10th, and that the next person ahead of me was over 40,000 ahead of me! So I just did what I could to get my career score up before Rock Band 2, and finished at 10th place on the Xbox Live Leaderboards, and 11th on the ScoreHero leaderboards. At the time, I had 55/58 FCs, a 100% on Highway Star with an overstrum, and a -1 on Creep. I thought it was a good way to end, even if I was really close to 57/58 FCs. I've stopped playing competitively for Rock Band 2, but I'm still going for any FCs I can get on Guitar. As of February 8th, 2009, I have FCed Rock Band 2 on Expert Guitar!!! I am the 6th person to do this, and I'm glad to have gotten it done! I honestly never thought I would do it!

Personal Stuff

Well, my real name is Dan, and I live in Woodridge, Illinois, which is about half an hour to an hour away from Chicago, depending on how traffic is. I used to live in Bolingbrook, IL until I was five, but then we moved away to Woodridge, which is adjacent to Bolingbrook, so it wasn't a far move. I am 17 years old, a senior in high school, and I go to Downers Grove South High School. I hate it there because everyone there doesn't use common sense, most of the teachers suck, (well, the ones I had at least), and all this retarded drama goes on. I'm glad I'm not any part of it, I don't have time for any of it. I am on the swim team there, and I've been on it since Freshman year. It goes from the end of November to the end of January/beginning of February. We practice A LOT, 6 times a week for a regular week, and my hair turns a light brown/blonde color from the chlorine. I get a lot of people asking "Did you dye your hair?" when this wasn't really intentional, but I do know it happens ahead of time. So my winter is basically occupied there. I also work at an outdoor water park during the summer as a lifeguard, so I get a lot of sun from that and I turn dark from that. I do plan on going to college, hopefully Northern Illinois University, but I'm still waiting on their response. I did get accepted to Western Illinois University, so thats good too. I plan on going into either Music Business, Psychology, or Computer related things. I wear a lot of band shirts, I have over 20 shirts currently, and if I saved all my shirts from when I first had them in 7th grade (They're all small on me, so they were thrown out by my parents, as they were useless at the time) I would have well over 50 band shirts! I get my band shirts from Hot Topic, Spencer Gifts, concerts, and various internet sites. I love going to concerts. I've been to 8 total, 3 of them festivals (Ozzfest '07, Beale Street Music Festival, Mayhem Festival) and I have enjoyed them all. I plan on going to more in the future, if they are on weekends and if I think its worth it to go. I also play electric guitar. I play an X-Cort, and I have been playing for 5 years. Thats about all I can think of now, I'll edit this more when I can think of more things.

I was very pissed at this, so I redid everything I could, only to find that my data got corrupted a couple days later, again! I was so pissed off at this, it even did it with Guitar Hero 1. My friends all convinced me to get an Xbox 360, but I had no money for it. So I went to Gamestop, sold my PS2, all my games for it, along with my Gamecube and all my games for that. Right now I'm occupied with Gears of War 2, but i switch back every once in a while. I either switch back if I'm bored with Gears at the moment, or if my online band, PenAndTheIslands, is playing.

Guitar Hero/Rock Band History

It all started when in 2005, I was at Best Buy, and Guitar Hero was just released. I played it on Easy for the first time, miraculously passed, and loved it. I'd go back as much as I could just to play it! For Christmas 2006, I got a Playstation 2 and Guitar Hero 2. I was playing Hard by the end of January, and Expert by mid-February (yeah, I played a lot!) I then discovered Scorehero on February 11th, 2007 and was hooked to the forums then, despite the slow server. I was relieved when the site was finally getting a server upgrade (Big thanks to Alex Rigopulos and JCirri!) I then started inputting Guitar Hero 2 scores and managed to crack the Top 100 before Guitar Hero 3 came out, and I also got 20 million total career score! I was so excited when Guitar Hero 3 came out, especially when I heard One, Raining Blood, Through the Fire and Flames, and Number of the Beast were going to be on there! I got Guitar Hero 3 on release date for the PS2, and played it all day. I was in love with it, until one day, when I had about 35 FCs, I come home and my data is corrupted! I did this at the end of November. I had enough money then to buy an Xbox 360, which came with Marvel Ultimate Alliance and some Racing Game I never got into. I played Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and borrowed other games from my friends to hold me over until I got Rock Band for Christmas. I then got Rock Band for Christmas, and was in love with it. Then, my Stratocaster started to double strum on me, which got me fed up with it. I just then played drums on medium until I eventually could play Expert in the Spring. But in January, I borrowed Guitar Hero 3 and a Les Paul controller from my friend (who just played drums anyway) and all my guitar problems were fixed, and I had another game to go with it! To be continued....Edit Later.

Hello, I'm GarageMetal468, but you can call me Dan. I'm also known as "gfunk" by some people in streams and online (credit to duck for that). I'll edit more later on.
